Most people who reach out to us have never worked with a household staffing service before. They don't know what to expect, and — reasonably — they're a little wary of what "consultation" actually means. Is it a sales call? A questionnaire? Something that requires them to already know exactly what they need?

It's none of those things. Here's what it actually is.

It starts with your household, not a role

We don't open by asking which job title you're looking to fill. We open by asking how your household actually runs day to day — who's in it, what a typical week looks like, where the friction shows up, and what's already working that we shouldn't touch.

That order matters. A household that needs a Housekeeper and a household that needs a Household Manager can look identical from the outside — both are "someone isn't keeping up." The difference only becomes clear once we understand the actual shape of the week, not just the symptom.

Many of our clients aren't sure which role they need. That's not a problem to solve before you call us — it's the reason to call us.

The questions we actually ask

  • What does a normal week in your household look like right now?
  • What's the thing that, if it broke tomorrow, would actually disrupt your life?
  • Is there existing staff, and if so, what's working and what isn't?
  • Are there specific constraints — schedule, privacy, property, travel — that shape who'd be the right fit?

None of this requires preparation on your end. Most people figure out the real answer to "what do I actually need" somewhere in the middle of the conversation, not before it.

What happens after the call

Once we understand your household, we identify the right level of support and begin a tailored search — not a search through a pre-existing list, but one built around what you specifically described. That's the difference between a database and a private search: we're not matching you to who's already available. We're looking for who's actually right.

You'll typically meet a considered shortlist within the timeframe we outline during the call — usually a matter of weeks, depending on the role and how specific the requirements are.

This shows up clearly in Texas households — Dallas, Austin, Houston — where "tailored" often means something specific: a family whose life has grown quickly alongside a fast-moving business, and needs someone who can help build household systems from scratch rather than step into ones that already exist. That's exactly the kind of detail that only surfaces once we've had the actual conversation, not before it.

Curious what this looks like for your own household? Request a private consultation — there's no cost, and no obligation to move forward.

What it isn't

It isn't a sales pitch. We're not trying to convince you that you need more help than you do — plenty of consultations end with us confirming that what you already have in place is working, or pointing you toward a lighter-touch option like Home OS™ instead of a full placement.

It also isn't a commitment. You can have the conversation, take the information, and decide not to move forward. The deposit that activates a formal search only comes into play once you've decided this is the right path — the consultation itself costs nothing and asks nothing of you.

The short version

A private consultation is a conversation about your household, not an interview about a job posting. You don't need to know the right role going in. You just need to be willing to describe how your home actually runs — the rest is our job to figure out.
